Teaching and assessment of technical skills in operation theatres is difficult due to pressure on theatre time, ethical issues and medico-legal concerns. Some of these tasks are complex and difficult to be taught in real-life situations. Students are taught suturing and knot tying on mannequins

Students are trained to blood pressure readings on adults, as well as knowledge of what the numbers mean and the ability to explain them to individuals.

They are taught to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Basic life support with baby mannequin gives a very life like simulation.

We use Pelvic Examination Simulators which are designed to facilitate the teaching, demonstrating and practisng of pelvic examination.

Students are trained on CPR Training Mannequin which is designed to assist in the training and practice of CPR. The lung will inflate and the chest will rise when mouth-to-mouth, bag-valve-mask or mechanical ventilation is properly performed. The mannequin features the important anatomical landmarks necessary to effectively teach and practice external cardiac compression, such as the rib cage, jugular notch, sternum, and xiphoid process. To promote sanitation, individual mouth/nose pieces are provided to each student.

There is a Life/Form Prostate Examination Simulator, designed to closely duplicate the tactile qualities of clinical prostate examinations. It accurately portrays various stages of prostatic carcinoma and helps the student to learn to distinguish clinically between the benign gland and malignancy.

Breast examination is taught with Breast Self-Examination Model, with several lumps embedded in it. They are trained on the Training Baby, suited for use in the instructional and practice of all important aspects of ill and healthy infant care.
