The Scindia School, Gwalior

The dream of a visionary "The Scindia School", dominates the city of Gwalior from its hill fortress for more than a century. Founded by late Maharaja Madhav Rao Jayaji Rao Scindia of Gwalior in 1897, the school has acquired laurels and has gained reputation. Enjoying an all India status it draws boys from various parts of the country from different walks of life. The school offers a rich variety of activities and opportunities for a multi-dimensional growth, making a Scindian an amiable and affable person.

This all residential school for boys with a total strength of approximately 630 students offers twelve houses,hublot replica watches four for junior and eight for the senior boys.

Once the barracks of the proud British soilders the dormitories today are housed in double-stories. The high roofed imposing buildings are commodious and comfortable with adequate ventilation. Equipped with all necessary items of indoor games and gadgets of entertainment the houses provide a sense of belonging towards its residents. The four Houses for the junior boys are guided by Housemistresses, matrons and other domestic staff. The senior houses are mentored by Housemasters and a resident tutor along with the necessary domestic staff.

Admission Procedure

Admissions are granted in Classes VI, VII, VIII & IX through an all India level entrance examination. Admission to Class XI is based on the availability of seats. The selection criteria include Class 10 Board Examination result and performance in the school's internal admission procedure.

The applicant should not have completed eleven/ twelve/ thirteen/fourteen/sixteen years on 1st January of the year in which admission is sought for these classes. The boys are not permitted to remain in the School after completion of their 18th year, nor after failure in any class for two consecutive years. The boys are also not permitted to remain in the School on failing a public examination of Class X and Class XII. New boys are admitted only at the beginning of the Diwali Term (July) and are on probation for a year.

Facilities

IT Facility
The school has new curriculum for the Computer Education for the students of class VI to XII apart from CBSE curriculum in Computer Sc., Informatics Practices and Multimedia and Web Technology for Sr. Secondary classes. The Computer Education Syllabus was designed by NIIT on recommendations of ICT Head Mr. R. K. Kapoor.

The concept of "Smart Campus Cards" and biometric based finger print scanner has been introduced for the students and being used extensively for their day to day campus life.



Library

The school has a well stocked, spacious, well lit and ventilated library which houses about 20,000 books on varied subjects. We at Scindia understand that children have their individual preferences when it comes to reading. To ensure that a child gets to read what he likes the school organizes on campus exhibitions or sends group of students to Book Fairs in Delhi to select titles which are then added to the library after the necessary review of their appropriateness.



Medical Care

Mostly referred to as 'Sickroom', the School has a well equipped health centre which is used by children when they feel unwell. A resident doctor, two nursing sisters and other support staff are available round the clock. All illness and injury of a minor nature is treated here. If needed, the students are taken to a specialist in the city, pertaining to the nature of illness or injury.
